Once the quality manager of a company with which we regularly collaborate told us: “You have no idea of all the problems we solve in your activities”.

To say that we solve “invisible” problems, those that you cannot “have an idea” of, does not seem to be the best commercial reference, although as an unintended effect, it is among the preferable ones.

The question then is, what does the Philosophy of the Business do in the Business?

The Business needs coherence, consistency and cohesion, a sense of unity, understanding as a whole, that which is characteristic of philosophizing and only of philosophizing... Well, that is what we do at umanes and that is the impact, simply good for the client. The beneficiaries of our interventions are surprised by the results, among other things because they are not fully aware of what the business needs and, above all, they do not know how to achieve it

The topographical method

When the idea of collaborating with a business arises, we try to study it, to intuit its identity, to understand its organizational logic and its reality. Our research includes the industry, its manufacturing culture, the characteristics of the market and the “requirements for success”. It is insufficient. We analyze the data, but it is of little or no use if there is no observation on the ground as we go through it. We operate by combining parameters with on-the-ground experience. We call it the «topographic method» and it does not give us a perfect and complete map of reality, it gives us the best possible one, sometimes more accurate than the one managed by the Business itself.

And only then we put ourselves at your service and the result is always good.

TRAINING THAT ALMOST “DOESN'T EXIST”

We know that we provide training that almost “does not exist”. The most prestigious management schools refer to entelechies that they describe as “integral” or “systemic” training and claim that theirs fits the bill. This is not usually entirely true. Is ours? Well, we are not going to say for sure, but we are sure to do something that almost “does not exist”.

We try to do training and development with people: easily and quite naturally. We offer sane ideas, contextualized, in line with the object of the activity, not always easy, but distilled, the core of what is important: they are the keys, what one has to know. We offer validated efficiency tools and help participants practice them and, when possible, master them. We build a suitable environment, usually fun and, in general, safe. And we are good listeners.

Making sense of all this, making it really meaningful, making the participant see the utility in it and understand it at a higher level, is not within the reach of everyone, we know. There are not many people capable of doing it...

But what we also know is that at the end of our activities, the participants care a little more about what happens in the business, what they do in the business, the future of the business... they care a little more.

When we comprehend coherence, consistency, cohesion and unity, we “understand” ourselves as a business. And this “understanding ourselves as a business” combined with learning organizational and communication skills regenerates the relationship and mutual trust, revitalizes, aligns and motivates. Because ours is a philosophy with executive validity.
